USA Statue of Liberty Crown and Torch

Dressing up like the Statue of Liberty is fun and easy! The Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the people of the United States and is a universal symbol of freedom and democracy.

  • Supplies Needed

    • 2 paper plates
    • green paint
    • tape, glue or staples
    • paper towel cardboard roll
    • yellow tissue or construction paper

    Preparation

    1. Sandwich the plates and cut out the centers to make the crown - try it on for size and adjust as needed.


       

    2. From the leftover centers of the plates, cut seven triangles to make the points of the crown


       

    3. Glue, staple or tape the triangles to the back edge of one of the plates


       

    4. Sandwich the triangles with the other plate, and secure the plates together with your adhesive


       

    5. Paint the crown and the cardboard tube with your green paint
    6. After they are dry, crumple the yellow paper to make your fire and secure in the end of the cardboard tube.
    7. Finish your costume with a book (for the tablet) and a towel (for the robe)!
