American Icey Pops

Perfect for a hot summer day,
these red-white-and-blue icey pops
are fun to make and a hit with any kid!

Ingredients / Tools
  • Popsicle molds
    or small paper cups
  • popsicle sticks
  • Food Coloring (red and blue)
  • Three cups or containers for colors
  • Boiling water
  • Plain yogurt
  • 1 banana
  • 1 box lemon (or any colorless flavor) gelatin mix
Preparation
  1. Combine boiling water and gelatin mix in blender and blend until dissolved
  2. Add banana and yogurt, blend until smooth
  3. Transfer mix to three cups or containers
  4. Add food coloring to two containers, a few drops at a time while stirring, until you achieve a nice rich red and blue color in each
  5. Pour mixtures into molds or cups and keep in freezer until hard
  6. If using cups, freexe for about 30 minutes until firm enbough to insert popsicle sticks, then return to freezer until hard
  7. Enjoy your beautiful red, sort of white, and blue icey pops!
Variations
  • Try layering the colors in the popsicles for a fun multicolored effect!
  • Add a piece of strawberry for a surprise goodie inside the icey pop!
