The American Flag
The flag of the United States of America has a blue field with 50 white stars that represent the 50 states, and 13 red and white stripes that represent the original colonies that became the first states. |

Where is the United States?
The mainland of the United States is located in North America between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, bordered by Canada to the north and Mexico to the south. At over 3.7 million square miles (9.6 million km²) and with more than 300 million people, the United States is the third or fourth largest country by total area, and third largest by land area and population. |

Bald Eagle
The Bald Eagle is a bird of prey found in North America, and is the national bird and one of the primary symbols of the United States. |

Statue of Liberty
The Statue of Liberty was presented to the United States by France in 1886, and until air travel was the first glimpse of America for millions of immigrants arriving by boat. The seven spikes on her crown represent the seven seas and continents, the broken shackles at her feet signify liberation from oppression and tyranny, and the torch symbolizes enlightenment. |

Moon Landing
The first landing on Earth’s Moon was the United States’ Apollo 11 mission, commanded by Neil Armstrong accompanied by Edwin ‘Buzz’ Aldrin. They visited the moon on July 20, 1969. |
