Mexican Paper Weaving
Both functional and beautiful, weaving is an important part of Mexican culture. One of the oldest craft forms known to man, traditional textile and basket weaving techniques have been passed down through generations. Learn the basics of weaving by making these fun paper mats!
What you'll need:
- Color assortment of construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
Preparation
- Cut a few pieces of paper into 1 inch wide strips.
- Fold another piece of paper in half and cut slits along the folded edge.
- Weave your strips of paper over and under the slits.
- Glue the ends of the strips.
- Hang as a decoration or use as placemats.
