Coque Monsieurback to German Arts & Crafts for kids

German Potato Stamp

Potatoes have been a large part of the German diet since the 18th century.  We chose to make simple designs on our potato stamps but we’re sure your kids will have bigger ideas!

What you'll need:

  • A medium or large size potato
  • Butter knife, edge of a peeler, small spoon or toothpicks
  • Paint for dipping or use an optional paint brush
  • Paper

Preparation

  1. Cut your potato in half.
  2. Use the butter knife, edge of a peeler, small spoon or toothpicks to make designs in your potato.
  3. Dip in paint or use a paint brush to spread paint on your stamp.
  4. Stamp away on your paper.
