Pinto Bean Fudge
Fudge is undeniably an American recipe, but adding pinto beans can be a fun way to start a conversation about Mexico with your kids while making this tasty treat!
This is our American fudge recipe, with the added surprise ingredient of Pinto Beans!
Ingredients
- 4 cups confectioners sugar
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 4 oz unsweetened chocolate
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup Pinto beans, drained and mashed
Preparation
- Gradually combine cream cheese and confectionary sugar, mixing thoroughly
- Melt the chocolate, add along with remaining ingredients to sugar mixture and mix it all together thoroughly
- Spread into greased 8" square pan
- Place in refrigerator to chill for 2-3 hours until firm
- Cut into squares and enjoy!
